Since 1935, Hörmann, headquartered in Steinhagen, Germany, has been passionate about technology and quality.  In 1952, after purchasing the rights from American, Glenn Berry, to produce a new type of up-and-over garage door, Hörmann launched the first up-and-over garage doors on the market, laying the foundation for Hörmann as it exists today. 

In 2006, Hörmann entered the North American door market with the high-quality residential door technology already known throughout Europe for decades, which includes innovations like our exclusive 100 percent CFC & HCFC free polyurethane insulation, FingerGuard™ pinch-resistant panels, and Galaxy Paint System.  We’re pleased to offer homeowners numerous classic and contemporary garage door styles and options – from value/builder, better, and best levels of thermal rating, customizations, maintenance, and luxury level, which makes customization easy while maintaining budget.

For more than 65 years, Hörmann has grown from a leading German door manufacturer into a global organization, expanding into North America in 2006. Today, Hörmann Group North America operates manufacturing facilities across the United States and Canada, supported by its 325,000-square-foot North American headquarters in Sparta, Tennessee. Hörmann serves markets worldwide through approximately 40 specialized manufacturing facilities, more than 100 sales locations in over 40 countries, and an extensive network of international sales partners.
