April is Heat Safety Awareness Month
April is Heat Safety Awareness Month
As we enter the month of April, which we recognize as Heat Safety Awareness Month, the HBACA urges all members to prioritize heat safety practices on every job site. Under high temperatures it is critical to remain vigilant in protecting workers from the dangers of heat-related illnesses, which can strike quickly and have serious consequences. By implementing proactive measures—such as providing ample hydration, opportunities for frequent breaks in shaded or cooled areas, monitoring weather conditions, and training crews on the signs and symptoms of heat stress—we can safeguard the health and well-being of every worker while maintaining productivity.
Get training materials & resources including this month’s Initiative and Stand-Down Toolkit, the PowerPoint presentation, OSHA’s Heat Illness flyers in English and Spanish, a Sample Heat Stress Prevention written plan, and the state’s proposed heat safety guidelines on our safety page: www.hbaca.org/safety/.
Thank you to Starlight Homes and Gothic Landscape for this month’s presentation.
