The HBACA has been very active during this Legislative Session at the Capitol. We are currently monitoring over 85 bills that could affect the home building industry. The Legislative session continues to operate under the COVID rules, which significantly impacts the ability to communicate with Legislators. In the Senate, all hearings are virtual. It is the same in the House; however, some committees are taking in-person testimony. With limited ability to be “present” at the Capitol, it is hard to get a feel for the mood and priorities of both bodies.
