HBACA Commits to Funding Home Building Academy Through 2024
The HBACA is excited to announce its commitment to funding the Home Building Academy through the 2024 calendar year. This financial commitment will allow the Academy to remain tuition-free and continue to train students with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in residential construction. The Academy’s hands-on training, instruction, and curriculum is opening doors for individuals seeking to work in residential construction. Last year, more than one hundred students completed the 9-week training program.
To reach more students, the Home Building Academy is expanding its course offerings to include a CORE-only Construction class. This 4-week program will cover construction basics such as:
- Reading a Tape Measure
- Using Hand and Power Tools
- OSHA-10
These lessons are also provided as a part of the 9-week training program in either carpentry or electrical, however, this CORE-only class will provide students a “Fast Track to Employment.”
