Home Building Academy Launches and Classes Begin
Home Builders Care, the 501(c)(3) charity sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona (HBACA), launched the eagerly awaited Home Building Academy on May 8. This tuition-free program aims to equip eligible participants with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in residential construction. By offering hands-on training, expert instruction, and a comprehensive curriculum, the Academy is opening doors for individuals seeking to work in high-demand construction jobs.
The Home Building Academy is operated by the Home Builder Institute (HBI). HBI's immersive and intensive curriculum is the foundation of the Academy's coursework and certification. Two weeks ago, the Home Building Academy welcomed its inaugural carpentry training class, followed a week later by the inaugural electrical training class. Through hands-on experience and guidance, they acquire basic construction and trade-specific knowledge and industry recognized certificates, ensuring a smooth transition into the workforce.
The Home Building Academy's commitment to providing tuition-free education ensures that financial barriers do not hinder motivated individuals from pursuing their career aspirations. Students are also eligible to receive a $5,000 stipend during the 9-week training program, as well as boots, hard hats, personal protective equipment, and a set of tools. Students will leave the program ready for a career in residential construction.
